Power: External 240/120 VAC to 9VDC power module provided.
Operating Current: Approximately 280 mA with 9V input.
Optional Battery: Removable 7.2 volt, 4 Ahr Lithium Ion battery, battery holder, and charger

ANALOG INPUTS

6 Analog input channels:

High Impedance, differential inputs, capable of reading DC volts, milliamps and thermocouples and more.
Ice point Reference included for thermocouple inputs

DIGITAL INPUTS

5 isolated (4 optically) digital inputs (5-12V input voltage).
5-volt short circuit protected opto-isolator excitation is standard

INPUT CONNECTIONS

The Black Lab has available four types of Connector Interface Modules that are used to connect sensor inputs directly to the Black Lab.  Model CIM1 comes standard with the Black Lab.

Sensor excitation:
12V, 24V or adjustable excitation provided by the Connector Interface Modules.

Please go to Connector Interface Modules for more information.

SAMPLING RATES

Selectable in groups of 1/10/100, 5/50/500, or 10/100/1000, samples/sec on 6 channels.

ACQUISITION MODES

Standard - Data acquisition is started and ended by tapping or clicking screen commands

Trigger - Data acquisition controlled by pre-defined trigger conditions

Capture Mode - Individual readings on all channels are saved directly into a .CSV file whenever the "save" button is tapped on the screen

View Only - Readings on all channels are displayed numerically on the screen but no data is saved. This mode is useful for confirming set up of all sensors before actual data taking starts.

REAL TIME DISPLAY

Readings update on the Pocket PC screen during each test.

TRIGGERING

Analog triggering:

Triggering can be configured for any analog channel.
Settings include pre- or post trigger times, rising or falling edge, type (threshold or rate of change), trigger value, and enable.

Digital Triggering:

Dedicated opto-isolated digital trigger channel
Settings include pre- or post trigger times, rising or falling edge, and enable.

DATA STORAGE CAPACITY

Can record 6 channels at 100 samples/sec indefinitely up to the memory capacity of the Pocket PC.

DATA TRANSFER

Microsoft ActiveSync, Infared, SD or CF card (any supported interface on Pocket PC)

COMMUNICATION

RS232 9 pin female D sub at 115 K baud.

SOFTWARE

Two software programs are included:

Pocket PC  software for performing data acquisition with the Pocket PC. This program will configure, record, display, replay, move, and analyze data directly in the Pocket PC. Data files are easily exportable in .CSV format to Excel or other 3rd party software for further analysis if desired.

Desktop  (or notebook) program for taking advantage of full screen displays. The desktop program display is essentially the same as the Pocket PC software.  Enhanced display of data is provided on the desktop program.

For more information on software go the Software page.
