USING POCKET PC'S FOR DATA ACQUISITION
WITH THE BLACK LAB

Pocket PC's provide the power, flexibility, and portability.

Analog Interfaces is dedicated to portable data acquisition. Naturally the Black Lab system would take advantage of the size and power of Pocket PC's! A typical pocket PC with dimensions of 5" x 3" x 0.75" and weighing 6 ozs combined with the Black Lab dimensions of 7" x 3" x 1.5" and weighing 1 lb takes portability to a new level.

Options for Purchasing a Pocket PC

1. Customers can purchase on their own Pocket PCs from our recommended list.

2. If a customer desires to have a Pocket PC included with their Black Lab order, Analog Interfaces will include one priced at current market price plus 20%. Please call Analog Interface for the current pricing on iPAQ Pocket PC's that are purchased through Analog Interfaces.

There are two reasons to consider purchasing from Analog Interfaces:

a) Convenience with no separate shipping charges
b) The ability to have Analog Interfaces "Rugged iPAQ Option" installed (described below)

NOTE: At this time the rugged option is only available for HP iPAQ models.

The Rugged iPAQ Pocket PC Option includes:

Ø Protective Metal Case with a belt clip on the back

Ø Rugged strain relief to hold Serial AutoSync cable in place

Ø The Serial AutoSync cable itself which is required for connecting the Black Lab to the Pocket PC

This combination of features both helps protect the Pocket PC AND assures that the connection between the Pocket PC and the Black Lab is held firmly in place.

Cradle for Pocket PC

Shown below is a Pocket PC in the optional cradle. The cradle connects directly to a desktop USB port. The cradle is useful for working with the Pocket PC when using Microsoft © AutoSync software for transferring data from the Pocket PC to the desktop. A cradle comes standard with some Pocket PCs or it can be purchased as an accessory.
